FOREIGN-ECONOMIC ACTIVITY
   Positive changes in the export structure caused the introduction of new custom duties for timber and products made of it taking into account the processing depth. The rate of production with high added value has grown. Production of the new export articles was arranged.
The export volume in the Ministry of Forestry made 2008 more than USD 100 million, including about USD 1,8 million which makes export of services.
   2008 pulpwood took 64,6% in value terms (2007 – 66,5%) in the structure of forest export, sawn timber – 15,5% (2007 – 18,6%).
   Enterprises of the system of Ministry of Forestry export forest products and services to 19 states of world: 11,2% of forest export accounts for CIS-countries (for Russia – 11,1%) and 88,8% for foreign countries (Finland – 30,1%, Poland –20,8%, Lithuania – 9,9%, Latvia – 7,9%, Germany – 5,1%, the Netherlands – 4,7%, Belgium – 4,6%, Sweden – 3,0%).
