OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

The main goal of the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus is guaranteeing of rational and undepleting forest utilization, their protection and regeneration, based on principles of sustainable forest management and biodiversity preservation of forest ecosystems, preservation and increasing of environmental, protective, sanitary, recreational and other forest functions, increasing of their resource potential, satisfaction of social needs, scientific and multi purpose forest exploitation.

The main tasks of the Ministry are:
• realization of government control in the domain of forestry;
• carrying out of unified public policy on exploitation and protection of the public forest resources and forest regeneration, coordination of activities of other public authorities, local authorities, legal entities of different ownership;
• increasing of forest productivity, providing of forest stand creation and growing on the basis of wide use of research and technical achievements in an effort to meet economic and social needs for all kinds of forest production completely;
• taking of forest protection measures;
• carrying out of unified economic policy in the domain of forestry, which guarantees creation of the necessary conditions for effective functioning of legal entities under the jurisdiction of the Ministry.
